I'm a member of The Esoterics and am about to sing at Queen Anne Christian Church (QACC). What do I need to know?
Continue reading to find answers to our most common questions.Q1 - Why am I singing at QACC?
A1 - The Esoterics rehearse at QACC in exchange for free
rehearsal space. Each member sings once per calendar year at a Sunday morning service at QACC. QACC is the largest annual in-kind supporter of The Esoterics.
Q2 - May I sing a solo or join with another members to offer a duet or quartet/octet?
A2 - Yes, you may sing in any of these kinds of formations at any time. Please let Erin know if you would like to fulfill your
commitment in this way and then schedule it with the Pastor or Choir Director. You may provide your own accompanist or if you need the QACC accompanist you will be responsible for getting that music to QACC at least one week prior to the date you are scheduled to sing.
Q3 - I would rather sing with the QACC Choir, how can I fulfill my commitment?
A3 - Throughout the year, there will be opportunities for you to sign up with Erin to sing with the QACC Choir.
For 2010 the Sunday dates are: February 21, March 28 - Palm Sunday, April 4 - Easter, May 9, September 19, November 21, and December 19 - 4th Sunday of Advent.
Additionally you may also choose to sing on December 24th at the 5pm Service; the rehearsal is usually at 4pm.
Q4 - If I'm singing with the QACC Choir what happens next?
A4 - Usually you will receive an e-mail from the Choir Director with details and a "pdf" copy
of the music (if needed) in the week prior to your date.
Q5 - What time should I arrive?
A5 - If not instructed otherwise, plan to be ready to sing on the Sunday you have committed to at 9 AM (arrive at 8:55).
If you are uncertain about dates, times, or details for any reason please use the contact list below to find an answer to your question.
Q7 - What can I expect in the worship service?
A7 - The service itself is simple and the people are warm and welcoming. They very much appreciate your gift of music.
Q8 - What am I supposed to wear?
A8 - Wear something nice. Formal concert dress is not required; in fact it is better if you do not wear your concert black.
Q9 - How much of a time commitment will this be?
A9 - The service itself lasts a little over an hour, with an hour of rehearsal beforehand. Additionally, if you have received the music beforehand you will need to look that over, so that may take an hour or so before Sunday. A generous estimate would be 3 hours total.
Q10 - What if I can't come on Sunday morning or have religious reasons not to attend?
A10 -
If you are not able to commit to a Sunday morning then you will need to write a check to QACC: $20 per project you sing.
Q11 - Who is the contact person if I have a question?
A11 - If you any questions, please direct them according to the table below:
